These videos are just two of many videos from http://www.cleanskies.org. It is a website about a foundation called American Clean Skies Foundation (ACSF) dedicated to natural oil. They even have their own television station. Clear skies claims that natural gas could create new local jobs, keep more money here, power cars, protect the environment, and is "the gateway to a better world." With natural gas, we wouldn't have to worry about cleaning dirty energy because the energy would already be clean.
Currently clear skies is working on several major projects. The first is the cap-and-trade bills. This program would allow congress to decrease CO2 emissions by rewarding participants that use natural gas in place of carbon fuel. The group is also working together with the Worldwide Institue and the UN foundation to bring natural gas to the center of the conversation at the upcoming Copenhagen discussions set to occur this month. Clear skies is also working on a project at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is a two year study on the role of natural gas in the US energy future. It is set to be completed by the summer of 2010.
The website also provides links to recent news involving natural gas information. They are a non profit organization and was founded in 2007 "to advance America's energy independence and a cleaner, low-carbon environment through expanded use of natural gas and renewables."
Personally I think its a great organization really working towards an extremely beneficial cause. It is an organization looking at many of the energy alternatives that even Heinberg described in The Partys Over. Media is a great way to try to get others involved in a cause, and clean skies is doing a great job of this. If this foundation is able to expand and is successful they could perhaps prevent us from experiencing such events that Cuba went through. Together with other organizations, the American Clean Skies Foundation could really have great effects and help in the effort to save the world.
