Changes in Climate

Climate is an average of temperature or rainfall over a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Change in climate can have a negative effect on different areas. It affects vegetation, increase in heat can cause more deaths, bring about more diseases which lead to deaths etc. The cause of climate change could come from several different areas. There could be changes in the sun, the tilt of the axis, pathway of the sun varies, changes in clouds can also be important because the amount of cloud cover varies and affects temperature, ice sheets reflects the suns rays etc. The GISP II ice coring drill is used to see a window through time. Usually a 10,000 window on time. The bubbles in the ice cores provide a sample of ancient air. So we can actually trace back how things were before with this drill. I find this really interesting. Volcanic eruptions put dust in the atmosphere which has an impact on climate. Biological activity in response to orbital variations can affect global temperature.

Diseases play a big role in the change in climate. For example the West Nile Virus is found mainly in the tropic and temperate regions. It affects humans and animals the spread of the disease is simply through a mosquito bite. Climate changes can affect vegetation as I said before meaning more deaths because the availability of food would be limited. With more diseases and food being affected people would have to find better ways to try and overcome the problem that climate brings. With this brings more education and studies along with vaccinations for diseases that would be sure to come along with this. This all costs money. People in developing countries are more likely to see the effects of this due to the change.
